Wii Remote Problems
These types of problems are very common and many are due to the console not being set up in the correct environment. Many issues can be solved by following these basic steps:
* The Wii Remote is prone to radio interference, so check carefully that other devices are not too close to your unit. Common devices that can effect the Nintendo Wii are cordless phones and
wireless computer mice and keyboards.
* Always make sure that the Sensor Bar cord is inserted into the back of the Wii console and that it is centered above or below your TV screen – you can see more details of this here:
* http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/setupSensor.jsp
* Try checking the obvious – make sure the batteries are fresh, the Wii Remote Controller is between 3 to 10 feet from the TV, and that no objects are blocking the signals between the Sensor Bar, the Wii console, and the Wii Remote.
Once you have checked the basic problems above then it is necessary to follow the synchronising sequence:
* Power off the Wii console by pressing the POWER Button on the front of the console. Unplug the console from the mains supply, wait a few seconds and then reconnect and power up the console.
* When the Health and Safety screen can be seen then open the small flap on the front of the Wii console and press the red button marked “SYNC.”, holding it down for for 15 seconds. This clears all the syncs on the Wii.
* Remove the battery cover on the back of the first Wii Remote you wish to sync, and then press and release the small red button – you will see the blue lights on the front of the Wii Remote blink.
* There is a white flap on the front of the Wii console – press and release the red SYNC button which is underneath the flap. The player LED will blink for a short period and then stay lit. Once it stays lit, then synchronizing is complete and the LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
* Repeat the above process for each additional Wii Remote added to the system.
